How to get a clients for a video production business?

As a digital entrepreneur I have been working with multiple videographers in London, Liverpool and even from Sri Lanka.

They created my videos and some I shot and they edited. I have been utilizing videos since 2014 to talk about my services, what I do and how it to get clients for my SEO services business.

And I have helped two videographers who worked with me to get clients for their videography business.

Yesterday when I met one of the videographers in London whom I did hired to work at ClickDo, my digital agency to create videos as a freelancer I could see he has some limitations of getting more clients and scaling his video production business.

So I decided to write guide on how to get a clients for a video production business.

These are strategies I used to get my first, second, third, tenth and even 100th client to ClickDo as a SEO consultant turned SEO agency owner. Now ClickDo runs itself with the manages and teams giving me time to grow SeekaHost, web hosting services company.

Let’s jump in to the easy way to get clients and this applies for most of service based businesses.

If your are in a city like London, getting clients is easy peasy, however it’s competitive. So you must know the strategies to get clients on demand whenever you want.

How to get clients for your video production business?

Getting clients for a video production business involves a combination of strategic marketing, networking, and showcasing your skills. You must start thinking like a brand build your own person brand as the go person/agency for video production. So keep this core in mind and let’s get clients.

10 steps you can take to attract clients:

  1. Define your target market: Determine the specific industries, businesses, or individuals you want to serve with your video production services. This will help you tailor your marketing efforts and create relevant content.
  2. Develop a portfolio: Build a strong portfolio that showcases your previous video production work. Include a variety of projects to demonstrate your versatility and expertise. Make sure your portfolio is easily accessible online and share it with potential clients.
  3. Create a professional website: Establish an online presence by creating a professional website for your video production business. Include information about your services, portfolio, client testimonials, and contact details. Make sure your website is visually appealing and mobile-friendly.
  4. Leverage social media: Utilize social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook to showcase your work, engage with potential clients, and build your brand. Share behind-the-scenes content, case studies, client testimonials, and industry insights to attract attention and establish credibility.
  5. Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to meet potential clients and build connections. Join relevant professional associations or organizations where you can meet like-minded professionals and potentially find collaborative opportunities.
  6. Referrals and recommendations: Encourage satisfied clients to refer your services to their networks. Word-of-mouth recommendations can be incredibly powerful for attracting new clients. Offer incentives or rewards to clients who refer others to your business.
  7. Collaborate with other professionals: Partner with complementary businesses or professionals such as event planners, marketing agencies, or photographers. This can lead to cross-promotion opportunities and referrals.
  8. Offer competitive pricing and packages: Research the market rates for video production services in your area and set your prices accordingly. Consider offering various packages to cater to different budget levels and client needs.
  9. Provide excellent customer service: Focus on delivering high-quality work and exceptional customer service. A positive client experience can lead to repeat business and positive reviews, which in turn can attract more clients.
  10. Invest in online advertising: Consider running targeted online ads through platforms like Google Ads or social media advertising. This can help increase your visibility and reach a wider audience. This is one of the best ways to get clients for your video production business. The keyword “video production” “videographer London” and related terms has thousands of searches per month on Google alone. By having a professionally done website that showcases your showreel with some client testimonials will help you get clients.

Now doing may be tougher than I just explained above, however it all start with a focus group/niche you want to work in (ask who is your idea client you want to work with), then have your videos which you have done well presented on your website. Your website must look professional, have the showreel to play immediately when someone visits you website, then packages with some samples prices and contact form to book a call with you for Zoom or ideally face to face meeting.

Try to get some clips from your prospect (when/if they inquire) and do a sample. You must delight and hook them to sell high price packages.

When you are getting started you will have to do whatever it takes to get the first 3 clients, delight them, get video testimonials from each and present it on your website underneath the showreel.

Remember, building a client base takes time and persistence. Be proactive, stay consistent with your marketing efforts, and continuously improve your skills and offerings to stand out in the competitive video production industry.
